'Heat' Magazine is a well recognized institution for celebrity gossip magazines, the title 'Heat' is always in a big red copy to stand out and announce the name of the magazine. The magazine cover has many aspects to it which would instantly grab readers attention, such as bright colours, quotes and images. The copy is mainly used to inform the audience  of what is in the magazine and to give hints so they are more likely to purchase it.

Following the convention of celebrity gossip magazines there is a usual large image of a celebrity, Charley's picture is on the bottom left taking up the majority of the magazine cover, her top compliments the red theme for heat magazine and matches the copy of her name in very large red font. A celebrity image is used to stand out from the many rows of magazines in the stores, as images is what the customers are more likely to see instead of the writing. Producers tend use a celebrity that is usually appropriate for that particular time as the audience would relate to it more. i.e Charley who was a well known former housemate in the BigBrother house , and this magazine issue was during the time she was evicted. They also use a celebrity as some people may admire them and therefore would attract more audiences to buy the magazine.

Near the image of her is big bold writing in a black box that says 'Her first interview', the word 'first' is in bright yellow in comparison to the rest of the white font to give emphasis to the fact that Heat Magazine has been able to have Charley's very first interview.

Below this is more writing, the bullet points are red which contributes to the red theme and the writing is in black. The black writing is quotes to Charley's interview to give out spoilers to the readers for things that would be most interesting to read about from her interview. This makes the audience want to read more and therefore buy the magazine.

At the top there is a yellow strip background with an image of Brad Pitt and Jennifer Aniston in both corners, within this, nearer to the top its written 'Brad's mum tells jen...' as a subtitle in bold capital letters, this stands out as its the only writing with a bright pink background , the pictures also illustrate to this certain subject. Directly underneath  following the elipsis is a quote which reads "Brad still loves you!" suggesting that this is what Brad's mum had said. The quote is used to give you an insight in the topic and to hint to the viewers so they would feel more curious to read further, hence purchase the magazine.

Closer to the top right is a squared box blue box containing the title in purple 'Britney's Meltdown!', inside the box is an image of Britney and white writing that says 'The full shocking story' , this element is generally quite bright which can gain attention. The copy's are used to inform the audience of what this particular part in the magazine is about. Britney's image is used to attract audiences and to illustrate the topic. Britney has a high profile and she is very well-known and most of the public would know of her and her shocking meltdown that was constantly in the news and therefore the audience would want to read more on the subject.

The BigBrother logo is also used in the magazine, it is placed ontop of Charley's image to demonstrate her participation. The logo is a technique used to attract audiences as many of the general public watch Big Brother and would notice the logo and therefore pick up the magazine.

The taget audience would generally be young adults/teens and mainly females as they are more interested in celebrity gossip, diets and fashion. The language is simplistic and the colours are bright which suggest the informal feel to it. The price is quite low which attracts a more working class or younger audience.

The main representations they have is of young females, this is shown through the celebrities used throughout the magazine, and their interviews, images and lifestyles suggested in the magazine.

The main genre portrayed is the celebrity gossip/fashion magazine as they have included many celebritity gossip, interviews, pictures and clothing advice or adverts throughout.
